Higgins Family Genealogy Published A genealogy of the Higgins family of Rockbridge County has been published. The book was compiled and prepared for printing by Ottie Marie Knick Canady of Tarpon Springs, Fl. The publication is entitled Higgins Ancestors and Decendants of Rockbridge County, Va.(1796-1997) and is dedicated to the memory of her mother, Ottie Moses Higgins Knick (1903-1969) of Rockbridge County,Va. Her research led her to conclude that all the Higgins are decendants of Joseph and Mary Higgins whose record show he was born in New York and moved to this county in the late 1700Ős. Her introduction includes information on Josephs four children (there may be more). This is followed by genealogy records that form the main body of the book and spans 9 generations.
Included are family photos, copies of marriage bonds,pedigree charts,a bibligraphy and an index of 60 pages.
She also published a genealogy on her fathers Knick family entitled William Knick and His Decendants (1758-1993) of Rockbridge County,Va. This was printed by The News-Gazette Print Shop in Lexington,Va in December 1993. Corrections and addditional updated information is also in the Higgins book on a lot of related families.
Included are John Marion and (1)Martha Ann (Higgins) Wilhelm and ( 2) Nancy J (Hostetter) Wilhelm family and James Wilhelm and Susanne(Higgins) decendants.

A genealogy of the Zollman/Zollman family has been published. The book was compiled by Art Reierson. It includes descendants of Adam Zollman of Maryland and Henry of Rockbridge. I have the families going back to Joannes Zullmann of Mensfelden Germany 1662. I have been lucky to have found some Zollmann relatives living in Mensfelden to help me with the church records and the Zollmann's living there today. The book is 470 pages of our relatives both in Germany and the United States.

Rockbridge County Artists and Artisans by Barbara Crawford and Royster Lyle. This book has 272 pages in a very nice hardbound cover, with lots of pictures and illustations. It shows many of the works by local artisans and gives information accounts of the indivdual and his/her trade.
